Where Do We Meet On Sundays?
Sunday Service: We meet in our renovated historic church building at 55 E Blake Ave at 10 am. Services also stream online on Facebook at that time, and are available on Youtube afterward as well.
What To Expect At a Sunday Service
Sunday Services
The best place to park on a Sunday morning is on High Street or in our parking lot. Coffee is ready at 9:45am in the lobby and our service will begin at 10:05am with a Call to Worship and Guided Silence and Reflection.
CVKids Service
At CV, we believe that three of the most important practices our kids can engage within the life of the church are worship, Eucharist and prayer ministry. We have built our CVKids Sunday morning rhythm around inviting our kiddos back into church at the last third of service so they can participate in these three things alongside their families.
CVKids check-in for ages Pre-K through 5th grade begins at 9:45am. Our CVKids space is on the top floor of our building and can be found by using the staircase in the lobby with the bathrooms. You can see more about our CVKids service under the CVKids tab.
Order of Service (10:05am – 11:25am)
Coffee and Tea
Call to Worship
Coffee and tea are available at 9:45am.
We begin with a song of worship as a welcome and invitation into our Sunday morning service.
Welcome & Announcements
Guided Silence, Reflection and Scripture
A little information on what is going on and coming up in our church community.
We engage in a time of guided silence and reflection together as we prepare to hear the Word. This is an opportunity to quiet our hearts and bring our self to God just as we come.
Sermon
A pastor or invited speaker will share an accessible message based on a passage from the Bible to help you relate with God.
Invitation of Kids into Worship
Worship, Ministry Time & Eucharist (Communion)
Our kids are invited back into worship with a warm welcome from the congregation.
At the end of each service we provide opportunities to respond to God. We respond by engaging in worship, Eucharist (Communion) and receiving or offering individualized prayer ministry. We believe that God is generous in giving us opportunities to personally experience God’s love. We practice open table communion, anyone is welcome to take and eat. We provide gluten and alcohol free elements to be as inclusive as possible.
A Church For All Stages Of Life
CVKids
CVKids is Central Vineyard’s children’s ministry, a Sunday morning program for children from birth through 5th grade. All of these classes are divided by age and developmental levels so that kids progress through our curriculum with others their own age.
CVYouth
Middle and High School students meet regularly to learn about God, pray, worship, serve and have fun together.
Middle and High Schoolers collaborate with our pastors to discern how we will go deeper in our relationship with God and each other, and reach out together.
Community Groups
We endeavor to provide deeper relationships and participation for people through these groups. People often choose a group based on meeting day, time, location, ministry focus, or whether or not childcare is provided. Some people seek affinity groups, i.e. mostly married or single, while others enjoy a mix of life stages that some of our groups offer. We offer brief group descriptions to help you narrow down a group or two that you could try out.
Connecting with God and People at Central Vineyard
You’re invited to connect and grow in your own unique way as part of our community.
We like to think of connection in terms of three habits that can help you connect:
Explore
Feel free to visit the Connect Table at the back of the church during our services.
Check our events calendar and our Community Groups page to find opportunities to explore.
If you’re interested in meeting with a member of the pastoral team, we’d love to talk!
To schedule, please feel free to e-mail Rachael Santillan.
Engage
While you’re exploring Central Vineyard, we invite you to engage with people and God, and to pay attention to the ways God might be engaging and inviting you. You might feel invited to just relax, find peace, or possibly heal. You might also find that God is inviting you to work through big questions about life and God, pray, or serve in some way.
We strive to be a community where everyone can safely and bravely engage with each other, and God.
Respond
Baptism and/or membership are two common and wonderful responses to God’s engagement with us. Ongoing rest, discernment, and prayer are also common … and wonderful.
If you’re deciding how to respond to what God is doing in your life, including but not limited to baptism and membership, we would love to meet, listen, pray, and help you discern next steps.
To set up a meeting with a member of the pastoral team, feel free e-mail Rachael Santillan.
